The blog is an initiative of the Kenyan Women Rights organization (KeRoWo), to publicize the work they want to do, to empower Kiberia's women from the largest slum in Africa. It is also a means to get volunteer to join the effort.

Getting started to empower Kiberia's women
Kenyan Women Rights organization(KeWoRO) is a Non Profit organization which works towards promoting and achieving woman's rights in Kenya. This year, there is a project which is targeting the largest slum in Africa situated in Kiberia, Nairobi. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kibera
The aim of the project is to set up women self help groups. The goal of the project is to promote and help the Kenyan women in Kiberia to become economically independent.
Each of the self group created, will work towards creating and selling traditional jewellery and handicraft from Kenya.
We have a limited funding hence we welcome support in terms of funds, raw materials, small equipments, volunteers, who are willing to come on board to help to make a difference in the life of the women.
